A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.6 points rocked the Central part of Italy, as a result collapsed buildings and historic churches.
“A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.6 points rocked the Central part of Italy on Sunday, resulting in collapsed buildings and historic churches in small towns and settlements”, – stated in the message.
So far, no reports of casualties have been reported, however, noted that the disaster has caused significant damage.
Among the damaged historical monuments – the Church in the centre of Norcia, near Perugia in Umbria and the historic Basilica of St. Benedict and the town hall.
As reported yesterday in Central Italy during the night of Wednesday to Thursday, there have been three strong earthquakes that led to the collapse of several historical buildings and injuries among the population.
