Poroshenko Lagarde confirmed the fight against corruption

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko eloquently persuaded the managing Director of the International monetary Fund Christine Lagarde in commitment to reform, including the fight against corruption.

This was announced by the managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde on the results of telephone conversation with Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko. According to her, together with Kiev, IMF has developed a “road map” of reforms and financial programs in support of Ukraine will continue.

Lagarde also said that since the budget of Ukraine for 2016 “fully complies with the requirements of the IMF, exhibited Kiev”, the organization will continue a program of financial assistance to Ukraine.

Yesterday, Christine Lagarde said that she’s concerned about pace of reforms in Ukraine, and how goes the fight against corruption in the country. Lagarde noted that if the Ukrainian authorities do not actively take on real reform and eradication of corruption, there is a high probability that the country will lose the credits of the IMF.

Earlier, the IMF expressed concern over the decision of the Minister of economic development and trade of Aivaras Abromavicius to resign.
