Polish trams did not come to Kiev

Ten low-floor trams to the Polish company Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz SA (PESA), which in the spring of 2016 bought Kiev, can travel only at the speed the street line, said in an interview Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv city state administration Ilya Sagaidak.

He explained that low floor trams cannot ride on the old rails.

– The new trams in the first place, will be on a high-speed Borschagovka line, – said Deputy KSCA.

Ilya Sagaidak said that the planned reconstruction of tram ways Miropolsky street – from street Youth to the building of Alisher Navoi, as well as on the street Dmitrievsky. Also, according to him, the reconstruction project is being designed by St. Cyril (ex Frunze).

According to the Deputy head of the KSCA, the amount pledged for the reconstruction of tram ways in the Programme of socio-economic development of Kyiv for the year 2016, amounts to 52.5 million.

Recall, 10 trams were bought for 11.5 million euros in April 2016. The mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko told in the summer of 2015 the intention to produce PESA for Kiev 50 three-section trams. In October 2015 one such tram was run-in the capital.
