On 19 September at a meeting of the Russian Oscar Committee decided to nominate historical drama, Andrei Konchalovsky’s “Paradise” for the award “Oscar” in the category “best foreign language film”. Napomnim that picture won the “Silver lion” at the 73-m the Venetian film festival.

The main role in the film was played by Julia Vysotsky, Viktor Sukhorukov, Christian Klauss and Philip duchen. The film “Paradise” is set during the Second world war. In the center of the story – Russian immigrant and member of the French Resistance Olga, who is at the center of a love triangle, at the other side of which is French-collaborator Jules and SS officer Helmut.
