From 22 to 28 September, Production center of Andrei Konchalovsky and TV channel “Russia 1” spend the week before the premiere screenings of the new film by Andrei Konchalovsky’s “Paradise”, was awarded “Silver lion” of the 73rd international Venice film festival. The series of screenings will be held in the cinema “pioneer” and will precede the national release of the film.

Feature film “Paradise”, shot with the support of the TV channel “Russia 1” and the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, talks about the people whose lives intersected during world war II. In the center of the plot — the three fates: Russian emigrant Olga, the movement of the French Resistance, a French collaborator of Jules and German Helmut, a high-ranking SS officer. The picture became the most talked about premiere of the recently concluded 73rd Venice film festival. Critics and audiences noted how the new cinematic language of the Director, and a great game of actors. The festival jury has awarded new work by Andrei Konchalovsky prize for best Director.

The project “Paradise” is a joint production of Russia and Germany, realized with the support of the European Fund “Eurima” (Eurimages). The film was shot in three languages – Russian, German and French. In Pioneer, the picture will be shown with voice-over translation — the text reads Andrei Annensky. Starring in the film are played by Julia Vysotskaya, Christian Klaus and Philipp duken. The role of Heinrich Himmler was performed by Viktor Sukhorukov. The shooting took place in Russia and Germany.
