Annual film festival “on the Edge” this year was held for the sixth time. The competition was presented 15 films shot by filmmakers from around the world. The best film of the show was the German documentary “Foreign body” directed by Christian Werner. The film tells about the market donor organs. The main character – Wolfgang – recently transplanted a new kidney. Suddenly he receives news from a prospective donor, who lives in Istanbul. The message says that he needs to return to the city, otherwise he would have problems.
“On the edge”-2016: the festival summed up results
Best Director this year was recognized as the Nino of Basilia reporting under the “on the Edge” his film “Life of Anna”. Best actor jury called the Russian Vladimir Mishukov, who performed the main role in the film “Fish-a dream”, and best actress Eka Demetradze of the already mentioned “Anna’s Life”.

Special prize of the Governor was awarded to the film “Petersburg. Only for love”, which is an anthology of stories about one of the most amazing cities in the world.

The jury of the festival “on the Edge” in this year included: actress Makiko Watanabe, Director Alexander Kott, Director Isabelle Stever, Director and playwright Irakli Kvirikadze and producer, General Director of the Union of cinematographers of Beijing Yan Yu. Headed this all-star team directed by Krzysztof Zanussi.
