Yesterday, 9 March, a group of 15-20 people attacked the minibus in which there were human rights activists from the “Committee for the prevention of torture” and journalists from Russia, Norway and Sweden, according to the Rain.
The attack occurred on the border of Ingushetia and Chechnya. The attackers beat up the people who were on the bus, took their personal belongings and equipment and then set fire to the car.
Four journalists were hospitalized because of injuries. According to Interfax, the attack eight people were injured.
Member of the Council on human rights under the RF President Pavel Chikov in microblog on Twitter said that among the injured in the attack a Norwegian journalist, who had teeth knocked out.
Also on Wednesday, armed men in masks broke into the headquarters of the joint mobile group of Russian human rights activists, which is located in Ingushetia. They brought out equipment and documents.
In the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ingushetia opened a criminal case on the fact of attack on journalists and human rights defenders under articles “hooliganism” and “Deliberate destruction of property”.
