Olympics-2016. Tennis. Successful start Svitolina departure Marchenko

The only Ukrainian in the men’s singles Ilya Marchenko lost their opening game at the Olympics. From Donetsk in the first round met with the 74-th racket of the world by Andres Seppi – tennis players spent on the court the maximum three sets.

At the start of the match Marchenko led 3:1, but lost five games in a row. In the second set, Ilya has gained reliability on his serve and only one break allowed the Ukrainians to extend their stay in Rio.

In the final set, Seppi led 4:0. It seemed that for Marchenko it’s all over now, but Ilya won four games in a row and resumed the affair. Discouraged Seppi has not been able to control what happens on the court – Marchenko led 5:4… and immediately lost his serve. In the tiebreak, Seppi played better.

No less dramatic were formed and the opening match of the first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina, which was opposed by experienced German Andrea Petkovic.

Kharkov miserably lost the first set, but in the same breath held the second set, arranging the highest possible four breaks. During the decisive game of tennis player Svitolina was lost with the break 0:1 – 15th seed quickly regained his serve and key in the match was the break from Elina in the eighth game.

Lesya Tsurenko in the first round had to play against France’s Kristina Mladenovic, but failed to match. Ukrainka after Wimbledon, has not played a single match.
