Obama expressed his opinion on the fight against terrorism.
US President Barack Obama on Monday held an emergency meeting at the White house with Vice President Joseph Biden and chiefs of security agencies because of the shooting in Orlando, reports Voice of America.
The investigation was headed by the Federal Bureau of investigation. Qualified as act of terrorism.
The President said that the investigation is in the early stages. “But we can definitely say one thing. We’re investigating an act of terrorism. The attacker was under the influence of extreme information that is distributed on the Internet. All of these materials are now being analysed so that we could understand how the killer got that way and decided to attack,” said Obama.
He said that while there is no explicit information that a killer had “run outside”. “It seems that at the last moment, he swore allegiance to ISIS. However, there is no evidence that they led. In addition, while there is no evidence that he is part of a larger conspiracy,” said the President.
Obama stressed that such tragedies leads not only the radicalization of individuals, but easy access in the U.S. by firearms.
