Nuclear degradation of Japan as a warning to Russia

Атомная деградация Японии как предупреждение для России

About the sad state of energy of Japan much has been said. The accident at Fukushima in 2011 and followed it mass hysteria “green”, which led to a halt of all (!) 54 reactors, brought the country to energy collapse .

By 2014, the Japanese authorities realized that without nuclear energy the country would be very bad–, no growth of LNG, coal and oil, but also shadowy hope to scout something in their own territorial waters will not compensate energy losses. Therefore, they in haste have begun to take steps that could even drop to reduce the scale of the problem.

Here’s the latest Reuters graph revealing the truth about the state of the nuclear industry in Japan:

Атомная деградация Японии как предупреждение для России

Though it dates back to 31 March, but data are for August of 2015. A new year for the Country of the rising sun began more or less well: in January and February was restarted two reactors at the power plant “Takahama”, and it is expected to launch of NPP “Ikat”.

However, these good news are simultaneously an indicator of how great the desperation of the Japanese. Given the various technical problems associated with insufficient security, or high costs, for a total of 43 reactor in Japan from the original 54 have the potential to start.

And judging by the chart Reuters, trustworthy reactors is even smaller, eight. Resume other undesirable or “indefinitely”. And it is in such “uncertain” are earned anew reactors “Takahama”.

What’s the point?

The situation in Japan is a Testament metaphors about nuclear club: “club entrance – ruble output – penny, the second time doesn’t get a ticket”. Succumbing once “green temptation” and panic fear, the land of the rising sun has doomed its nuclear industry for many years suffering with the vague prospect in the future.

This error should serve as a lesson for Russia, which is always worth remembering that atoms for peace is one of its competitive advantages on the global economic and geopolitical arena. Energy is clearly the future of the world by atom.

And whoever will be managing the atom, will manage and world. This role fits Russia best.

The position of Japan we can use to your advantage: starting as economic benefits for the same “Rosatom”, which holds the conservation of Fukushima, and on a larger scale. You never know, maybe the Japanese will reach such desperation that will waive all its claims on the Southern Kuril Islands and Hokkaido will give in the bargain.
