The evening of 14 July, the truck crashed into people on the promenade des Anglais in nice, where celebrated the national holiday of France – Bastille Day. According to recent reports, 84 people have been killed, another 18 injured are in critical condition. Truck driver – 31-year-old Tunisian national, a French citizen, was killed by police.
French President Francois Hollande called the tragedy in nice attack and said that the French government will strengthen the fight against terrorism, including in Syria and Iraq. Francois Hollande also stated that the state of emergency in the country, which is due to expire on 26 July, will be extended for another three months.
