About 3 million migrants and refugees have died since the beginning of the year while trying to cross the Mediterranean sea to enter the territory of the European Union. This is the Agency Europe Press, citing a report by the International organization for migration.
According to the data, among the dead and missing from Jan to July 2016 number 2977 people, significantly more than in the same period of last year (1906). In the last four months, according to experts, are dying daily by about 20 people, mostly immigrants from the countries South of the Sahara.
It is also noted that 242 thousand migrants and refugees managed to cross the Mediterranean sea for seven months of this year. As of July 20, in Greece a profit of 159 thousand people, Italy – 81 thousand, in Spain – about 2 thousand, a few migrants were registered in Cyprus.
