When opening accounts in Russian banks will have to check the client whether it is individual entrepreneur tax service blocked the account. Such requirements appeared from the letter of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, explaining the provisions of the Tax code, reports “Kommersant”.

In accordance with the new requirements, banks are prohibited from opening new accounts, deposits, or deposits to those taxpayers, whose account was blocked by the decision of the tax inspection. For non-compliance, a penalty from the Federal tax service (FNS).

The publication notes that the Bank’s VAT number may determine whether the customer is an entrepreneur. However, people may not know the number of his INN, and the Bank is not entitled to refuse individuals in opening an account for his absence. How to act in such a situation, is unclear.

According to respondents edition experts, such innovations are a convenient way on the eve of elections to the state Duma to show concern about the budget and the fight against unscrupulous taxpayers.

Interlocutors of the edition noted that the new provisions will lead to delays in the opening of accounts for individuals, as for checking history of the customer takes time. A single database that would combine all the necessary information does not yet exist, and its creation will require more than one month.
