Investigators opened a criminal case on the embezzlement of funds allocated for the disposal of chemical weapons in Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti source in law enforcement bodies.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, a defendant in the case was the CEO of the company “Ekros-Engineering” nail Bulgin. RIA Novosti has no official confirmation of this information.

As it became known to the newspaper “Kommersant”, the 56-year-old Bulgin arrested. A criminal case, the newspaper writes, was opened under part 4 of article 159 of the criminal code on fraud in especially large size.

It is noted that the claims of the investigators and the investigation came to the execution of the contract concluded in October 2014, the firm accused the Federal Directorate for safe storage and destruction of chemical weapons (BHUJA FU) in the Ministry of industry. According to him, “Ekros-Engineering” was supposed to supply the plant “been” in the eponymous village in Udmurtia 85 tons of monoethanolamine and 370 tons of lime special on 16 million rubles. These reagents are used for the destruction of contained in large caliber artillery projectiles, chemical agents sarin and lewisite, the newspaper specifies.

From the case, continues to “Kommersant”, it follows that in collusion with “unidentified persons” of the Udmurt branch FU BHUJA, Bulgin, according to investigators, falsely overstated the value of the delivered reagents amounting to more than 10 million rubles. According to Vladimir Kitsing, one of the lawyers of the accused, no evidence confirming the involvement of his client in the alleged crime, was not presented.

The Investigative Committee confirmed to the newspaper that the investigation into embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the disposal of chemical weapons, but the details refused to discuss.

According to the publication, to date, Russia has eliminated 95 percent of all existing on the territory of stocks of chemical warfare agents.
