Media: In the Yukos case in France arrested the assets of Roscosmos

A significant share of Russian state assets arrested in France, initiated by former Yukos shareholders, accounted for cash receipts, due to space enterprises of Russia, reports The American Lawyer.

Among the arrested assets is $ 400 million, payable satellite operator Eutelsat to the address of FSUE “Space communications”, and $ 300 million, the company shall pay Arianespace the Russian Federal space Agency. In the first case we are talking about the fee for the provision of Russian satellite resource, and the second – for the supply of Russian boosters, writes “Kommersant”.

However, the Federal space Agency does not comment about the arrests of the French assets of the Corporation. “While there are court actions, review of Roscosmos will not be”, – stated in the message of Department of communications of the state Corporation, reports RIA “Novosti”.

The Hague arbitration court in June 2014 upheld the claim of former shareholders of Yukos case against Russia and agreed to pay compensation in the amount of 50 billion dollars instead of the requested 114 billion.

Later the European court of human rights (ECHR) also ruled that Russia should pay former shareholders of YUKOS to 1.86 billion euros as compensation for their complaint reviewed back in 2011, and 300 thousand euros for litigation expenses.

After that the ex-shareholders of Yukos appealed to the courts of Europe and the USA with the requirement to recognise and execute the decisions of the Hague arbitration. In France and Belgium they have already been executed, and a number of Russian assets arrested. In the US proceedings continues. Russia is trying to undo the arbitration decision, having appealed against them in the District court of the Hague, whose decision may be made on the 20th of April.
