The new MX-5 will be lighter than its predecessor.
Mazda began developing the MX-5 Roadster new generation, according to Autocar. According to the newspaper, the car will only be released in 2021. The fifth generation of the Roadster will get a carbon fibre, allowing significantly reduced weight of the machine. At the same time the dimensions of the novelty will differ from its predecessor.
The Roadster is expected to get a smaller motor. It is expected that it will be the petrol engine with three cylinders. At the moment the smallest unit in the motor line of Mazda MX-5 is the 1.5-liter engine with recoil 129 horsepower.
In March, Mazda has introduced a new version of the MX-5 Roadster. The car received a prefix in the name of RF and is equipped with a folding hard top. In addition, the new product has a special color paint finishes called Machine Grey.
