Maserati “Toad” with a motor of three horsepower offered over 14 thousand euros

Maserati "Жабу" с мотором три лошадиные силы предложили за 14 тысяч евро

A copy of the rare motorcycle Maserati Tipo 50/T2/SS, known among collectors as Rospo (“Toad”), is for sale by the Dutch company trade antique Classic Youngtimers Consultancy , according to Classic Driver.

A light motorcycle with an engine displacement of 50 cubic centimetres and a power of three horsepower was produced from 1956 to 1959, under the brand Maserati factory Maserati Candele, Accumulatori e Moto (SAM), engaged to the manufacture of automotive spark plugs and batteries. Motorcycle design was developed by the Maserati with the expectation of mass production.

Tipo 50 was produced in several versions, including a variant with a “ladies” frame and presented on the T2/SS, due to the characteristic shape of the fuel tank nicknamed Rospo (Toad). Due to the bankruptcy of the holding company Orsi Group, owned at the time the Maserati brand, motorcycle production was curtailed to about 1960, and the factory closed.

This copy is in “fully working condition” and valued at 13950 euros.
