In the capital of our country annually hosts the biggest event of the MIAS (Moscow international motor show), where as on other similar shows, it shows both the latest auto industry from around the world. This year from participating in MIAS refused many foreign companies, even those with the countries of which the current Russian leadership has not had time to spoil relations.
At the moment the decision to boycott the 2016 MIAS took Toyota and Volkswagen, which has dragged behind itself all other brands, i.e. Lexus, Audi, Skoda, Bentley and Lamborghini — new products from these manufacturers will not. Honda is not planning to come to Moscow and will not allow you to do this for my child brand Acura. This opinion was shared by the Europeans BMW and Volvo. If these auto giants is definitely not going to participate in the MIAS, there are still those who is still in thought. These include Chery, Ferrari, Ford, Isuzu, Maserati, Porsche, SsangYong and Subaru even, that is, the domestic motor show has become uninteresting even to the Koreans and the Chinese. Moreover, even the GAS is not very wants to exhibit their new items, but everything is clear — very few people will be interesting for the next “GAZelle”, the level of technical equipment lagged behind by 20 years or so.
The main reason for the reluctance of automakers to bring their cars in Russia is in a dying condition of our economy, because their new cars will be simply nobody to sell — just in the past month the demand for passenger and commercial models fell by 29 percent year over year. Apparently, MIAS 2016, which will be held in late August, will be on display only “cars” from “AVTOVAZ”.
