At the outbreak of Lyme disease in Ukraine, the doctors told about the symptoms of this disease.
Lyme disease not so long ago acquired its name, previously, the doctors called it an infectious disease transmitted to humans by the bite of the tick in different ways: erythema, acrodermatitis, serous meningitis, chronic arthritis, and so on. About 40 years ago doctors from the town of Lyme in America came to the conclusion that ticks are carriers of the bacteria “Borrelia”, infect people not only in USA but also in most regions of Europe and Asia, writes the Chronicle.Info with reference to the Correspondent.
Today, in Ukraine declared anxiety due to mass infection of people in the infectious hospitals set the diagnosis “Lyme disease”. It is known that the most affected southern regions of Ukraine such as Zaporizhia, Kherson and Dnepropetrovsk, and also the center of the country is Kyiv. Ukrainians regularly tell us how to behave in nature and what to do if bitten by a tick, but from the informational knowledge the situation has not changed. With the beginning of the season “mites” hundreds of people have already been treated in the local hospital of their cities with the complaints that was bitten by a tick. Some was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Symptoms of Lyme disease, which is very important to pay attention and the sooner the better:
1. Redness, itching and soreness in the spot where the tick was stuck. In some cases, the bite becomes “dumb”, that is, a person does not feel touch to the skin.
2. General state of weakness bordering on a headache already may indicate infection by Borrelia bacterium.
3. The high temperature should alert you, especially if the day before you are bitten by a tick. The fever may last for the whole week, so it is very important to call a doctor to diagnose the presence of a disease.
4. If on the site of the tick bite papule appeared, gradually increasing in size and with clear contours, and bright red color, it is likely that you are sick with Lyme disease.
5. Allergic conjunctivitis and urticaria can also indicate the presence of infection in the body.
6. A few days after the bite of an infected tick at the person may experience pain in the muscles and bones, and the pain in this case is migratory in nature, that is, it keeps changing my location.
7. In the last stages of Lyme disease can show symptoms of damage to the heart and the membranes of the brain, such as: abnormal heart rhythms, similar to meningitis symptoms, paralysis, neuritis of the facial nerve and so on.
