Lukashenko on retirement benefits: most importantly, we again do not unbalance the system

President Alexander Lukashenko demanded that in providing exemptions and exceptions for certain categories of citizens the approach was balanced and accurate. According to the press service, the meeting discussed these documents, as the draft decree “On provision of pensions of separate categories of military personnel” and some questions of calculation of the experience of civil servants.

According to Marianna Shchetkina, the first document is directed on regulation of questions of purpose of pensions to those who were dismissed from military service in connection with the downsizing of the Armed Forces in 1992-1994.

Then the pension was granted in part. Upon reaching the generally established retirement age, given the low amount received in military pensions, the majority of the citizens expected to move to a retirement pension on age. But due to significant changes in pension legislation, a number of difficulties.

The President agreed that there should be a separate decision on this issue, which relates to this category of citizens.

With regard to the experience of civil servants, is to exclude from the purview of the Ministry of Finance the authority to give explanations on the issues of calculation of length of service, and leave the powers to the Ministry of labor and social security to avoid duplication of functions between the two agencies.

In addition, the President was interested in detail all issues associated with pension provision: how to grow a pension, are there any suggestions for their improvement, what is the state Fund of social protection. Were some aspects of employment — unemployment, number of vacancies, retraining of personnel.

Discussed the timeliness of payment of wages on a particular problem to companies. The head of state demanded that the question of wages, pensions, targeted social assistance was a priority. During the report addressed the demographic situation. The President informed how the payment of allowances to families with children. So, for the first half of the country was born in 1 718 children more than in the same period last year. According to the Minister, all benefits are paid in full and on time.
