Only love matters in this life, when all is said and done.
Wanda and Joe have been married for 63 years. They met on the street, Joe saw the passing of Wanda, stopped the car and asked her for a date. They were engaged on 28 December 1950 and got married exactly two years later. To capture their strong relationship, their granddaughter Selin Nelson did for their photo shoot.
“I realized that I wanted to create something special and to reflect what it means to me true love. And these are my grandparents. Grandma was in awe of every moment. It was very cute to see her excitement before make up and dress up. I went to Macy’s in search of a dress for grandma, and eventually ran the coat to make sure that the size is exactly right for her” — says the photographer about his project.
“It’s from the heart. This is the most important thing, in which I participated and which was satisfied.” Photo shoot — part project called “love, the Nelsons” (Love, The Nelsons), who is a photographer dedicated to the love for life. “I’m ready to show lovers around the world that true love still exists. There are so many stories of love, about which nobody knows and which is simply waiting to be told,” says Selin.
“They are, without a doubt the best people I know. I call them my heroes,” says the photographer.
“Only love matters in this life, when all is said and done. Love always wins.”
Through its photo shoot Selin asked grandparents to write each other love letters, then they read them aloud. It was wonderful.
“My dear Wanda, I have not wrote you love letters. I think the last time it was when I worked in Canada. In any case, as much as I love you, and perhaps even stronger.”
“I love you now as much as in the day of our wedding. And the evidence costs only two dollars. This is the best offer that I have used”.
