Semyon Osipovich Friedland — Soviet photographer from Kiev. He was born in 1905 into a family of Jewish shoemakers. Initially, semen Osipovich decided to start a career as a journalist, but soon left the profession due to the force at the time of censorship. In 1932 he graduated from the photo Department of the State Institute of cinematography (VGIK modern). In the 1950s he worked as chief editor of the famous “Spark”, one of the oldest weekly illustrated magazines of the USSR.
At the time, Semyon Osipovich took lots of photos, which depicted the daily life of ordinary people in the 1950s. These images are interesting not only from a historical point of view, because they allow your eyes to see how the generation of our grandparents lived at the time.
