Kitchenware is small in size, will not save you from overeating

Посуда маленького размера не спасет от перееданияIf you think that the choice of dishes is small in size, will save you from overeating and, consequently, excess weight – you are wrong.

According to scientists from the United States, regardless of the size of the plates, people eat until they feel full.

In the experiment, researchers observed 10 women are overweight and 10 women of normal weight who ate lunch from plates of different diameters. Participants were asked to eat until they feel full. As a result, scientists have concluded that people eat until then, not yet sated, regardless of the size of the cookware.

They also noted that overweight women were less hungry before meals and felt less full after lunch, compared to women with no weight problems who took diet pills. This is despite the fact that the amount of consumed food was the same. The data obtained may indicate that obese people reduced sensitivity to hunger and satiation.

Experts from the University of Texas has debunked the myth that the absorption of excess calories can be avoided by choosing dishes at a small size. “Small plates are often recommended as measures aimed at reducing the amount eaten, however, we believe that this is an inefficient strategy. The level of consumption does not change depending on the size of the dishes,” – said the scientists.
