Former U.S. marine Robert O’neill, who claimed that he killed the leader of the terrorist group “al-Qaeda” Osama bin Laden, was detained by the police in Montana for drunk driving, reports Reuters.

Law enforcement officers found the man, when he slept in the car with the engine running in the Parking lot of the store. Former military claimed to have fallen asleep under the influence of medication, assigned to him by the doctor. But tests showed that O’neill had used alcohol.

The former marine refused to re “purged” through the breathalyzer and blood analysis. Police brought him to the station and charged with driving under the influence.

38-year-old Robert O’neill became famous in November 2014, when he stated to British newspaper the Daily Mail that he eliminated the “terrorist number one” in may 2011. The decision to disclose his identity he took after he was deprived of a number of social privileges because of early discharge from service.

A former marine was born in Montana, where he still lives with his father. In the army at age 19 after a failed novel. He participated in 400 military operations, including in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Osama bin Laden was killed in may 2011 in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad as a result of the operation, U.S. special forces. The body is the head of “al Qaeda” was buried at sea.
