Italian court will not prosecute hungry thieves

Итальянский суд не будет привлекать к ответственности голодных воришек

Italy’s highest court allowed the hungry to steal food. But only if we are talking about life and death. A precedent was the case of the unemployed Ukrainians who in 2011 was sentenced to 6 months in prison and fined € 100 for stealing two pieces of cheese and packaging of frankfurters with a total cost of 4 euros.

Ukrainian filed several appeals. The case was heard in three instances, until it got to the Supreme court. His decision is final and not subject to appeal, reports channel “Russia 24”. And the unemployed from now, apparently, will pay compensation.
