Militants extremist group “Islamic state”, banned in Russia and several other countries, has lost control over 22% of territories in Syria and Iraq over the past 14 months. This is stated in a new study of the analytical Agency IHS, reports the BBC.
According to experts of the company, the IG also lost 40% of revenues – mainly from oil sales – after losing control over the border between Turkey and Syria.
Compared to previous analytical Agency, which was given less than three months ago, the territory controlled by the IG, decreased by 8%.
