The President has called the guilty athletes rats
Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe gave instructions to the Commissioner-General of police to arrest all members of the Olympic team of the country immediately on arrival at Harare international airport, local media reported.
The fact that none of the 31 athlete participating in 7 sports, was not able to stand on the podium, and the best place was only 8th.
We spent money on these rats, which we call athletes. If You are willing to sacrifice and to win even for a copper or brass medals (the 4th and 5th places), like our neighbours from Botswana, then why would you even go to the Olympics to spend our money?! If we needed people to just sing in Brazil, our anthem and raise our flag, we’d have sent some beautiful boys and girls, ” said Mugabe and promised to reimburse all expenses of the team by themselves as athletes-tourists, if it will take them 10 years.
