In Venezuela, maturing October revolution

Commitment to the ideals of socialism, faith in the fathers of the people as in God and other manifestations of Bolshevik fervor speed, when the stores instead of the missing goods appear military weapons for the protection of empty shelves from the angry citizens.

This simple rule today confirms one of the last sanctuaries of socialism – Venezuela. Tuesday, 25 October, the Venezuelan national Assembly (the so-called Parliament of that state) voted to start the impeachment process of the President and follower of the case of Hugo Chavez – Nicolas Maduro.

In addition, the head of state was summoned to a meeting of Natassembly, which will take place on 1 November.

This time over the President, have repeatedly stated about his experience with the late father of the nation, Hugo Chavez, appears as a small bird, faced a serious danger. Deputies voted “for the discovery of process against Nicolas Maduro” more than that – they want not only the resignation of the President, but also to special parliamentary Commission “started to investigate” possible criminal and political responsibility of the President.

Despite the fact that the Venezuelan Constitution does not provide a clear mechanism of impeachment, the intentions of the opposition Parliament is quite serious. Given the high level of public support of anti-presidential sentiment, Maduro is really at risk, not only armchair, but also personal freedom. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he said that will gather on Wednesday, the national defence Council, which intends to discuss the situation in the country.

Attempt a bloodless removal of the President from office taken by the Venezuelan opposition. In August, the country passed the first stage of collecting signatures for a referendum on the President’s resignation. The next stage was to start yesterday, however, the decision Maduro referendum postponed indefinitely. The national electoral Council of Venezuela is explained by the fact that more than 1% of all signatures collected for a referendum were invalid.

In response to this decision, the Parliament expressed the desire to expose the head of state impeachment, which was launched yesterday.

The probability that Parliament and the opposition will be able to remove Maduro from power, is very high. This position is fully consistent with the sentiment of the majority.

The authority of the President began to plummet along with oil prices. Then he showed his absolute incompetence. The majority of the population, it became clear that Maduro and his entourage is able to keep the situation in the country only in a period of high oil prices, shifting the responsibility for failures to the “external enemy” in the United States.

With the drop in oil prices Venezuela has received a complete collapse of the economy, incapable of existence at low world oil prices. Currently Venezuela is living in conditions of rolling blackouts, soaring inflation, second place in the world for murders and a shortage of food and medicines.

According to the IMF, the GDP of Venezuela to 2015 was reduced by almost 6%, and this year the decrease will amount to another 10%. The country’s currency reserves are at a minimum for 13 years old level.

The make matters worse is the main foreign investor country – China – in the face of the state Bank of China Development Bank, have invested in Venezuela, Chavez and his followers of about $37 billion. To pay the bills Caracas today nothing, and especially not want to.

Thus, the current situation with the beginning of impeachment Maduro is somewhat reminiscent of the February revolution of 1917 in Russia. How it ended is well known.

If the current Venezuelan “February” in full “the October revolution”, is not known. But is that such a shock, and with it the very real threat of civil war may await the country in the near future, no one no doubt.
