Festival Z-Games, fair and schönborn Park – what to see, where to go and what to try in Ukraine in August – in our collection.
Schönborn Park
Count Schonborn Park in the tract of voyevodino in Transcarpathia was restored by the philanthropist S. Moshak in 2013 to commemorate the 285th anniversary of the transfer by the Emperor of Austria these lands Schoenborn. But those who have seen the Charles bridge in Prague, certainly recognize the familiar motifs, admiring the Bridge of the four Evangelists, built in the Baroque style with statues of Luke, Mark, John and Matthew.
Festival Z-Games
When: 4 – 7 August
Sixth sports and music festival Z-Games this year will be held in Zatoka near Odesa. Among the headliners of the event stated Paul Oakenfold, Aphrodite, Brutto, O. Torvald, Panivalkova and others. Also at the event will be the finals of two dance festivals Adrenaline Fest World Finals and Feel the Beat.
The program of Z-Games V includes action show with participation of world stars of sport, stage of the international extreme competitions on Dirt Jumping, international competition and master classes in the disciplines: Wake Boarding, Kite Boarding, Skimboarding, Z – Climb, Slackline, Parkour, Mini Ramp, Hip-Hop, Workout, Jet Ski etc. the Festival this year promises to be the most ambitious for all 6 years of Z-Games.
Festival “Bandershtat-2016”
When: 5 – 7 August
Patriotic festival “Bandershtat”, 10-th, the last time you will be in luck, after which it will be moved to Kiev. The idea of the festival “Bandershtat” is reduced to the promotion of Ukrainian national unity, patriotism and glorification of Ukrainian heroes who fought in the ranks of the UPA for independence. Stepan Bandera as a symbol unbowed Ukrainian nation, is a symbol of the festival itself, which was reflected in the title of the event.
On the music scene promise the performances of such teams as BRUTTO, Jamal, “Brother Haduki”, “Anita”, “Tartak” and others. On the literary scene you can see the Alex Chupa, Anatoliy Dnistrovyi. Besides, will pass various the master-classes, historical reconstruction, and performances by traditional Ukrainian martial arts.
Sorochinskaya fair 2016
When: 16 – 21 August
One of the most outstanding fairs held in Ukraine in the 19th century in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi, but of particular popularity she gained after N. Gogol immortalized her in his novel. This year the fair will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine and held under the slogan “fair Blooms – blooms. The opening of the festival will be held on Tuesday, daily at 12:00 guests will be welcomed by Gogol himself and the heroes of his works performed by actors of Poltava music and drama theatre.
The fair is not only a trade event, which presents different products – from honey to fur – from almost all corners of Ukraine, but also numerous master-classes in traditional crafts, traditional ceremonies, wine and food and musical performances. Every year the fair is visited by nearly a million people, among which there are also guests and participants from Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Poland.
Vilkovo
Vilkovo is located in the Odessa region on the coast of the Danube. It is often called “Ukrainian Venice”: for the roads here, the channels are called channels, and locals move through the streets in boats and rafts. Vylkove was founded in 1746 as the village Lipovanskoe here fled from religious persecution the so-called old believers, the Cossacks. They began to explore the marshes, to fill the Islands, which built their home and smashed small gardens-vegetable gardens.
Today in Vilkovo go to see the city on the water, a ride on the canals and sample local delicacies like frogs or pike caviar. Also recommend to visit the Danube biosphere reserve where you can see rare species of birds, animals and plants.
