The administration of the President of the United States published on Thursday, 3 November, plans to equip stations for recharging electric cars approximately 40,000 miles of American roads.
It is planned that the “national corridors for recharging the electric car” will Lodge at site 35 of the 50 States and in Washington, DC.
So, stations for recharging electric vehicles will be equipped with 48 of the Federal highways between different States to be determined by the U.S. Department of transportation. As stated in the published White house plans, drivers can expect charging stations on these routes are located at least every 80 kilometers. These measures are “key steps to increase the use of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure required for their support.”
As noted in the White house, since 2008, the number of charging stations for electric vehicles in the United States has increased tenfold – from less than 500 to 16,000.
“The Federal government and the private sector, working together, can guarantee access to electric vehicle drivers to charging stations at home, at work and on the road – and thus to adopt a new approach to transport which will move America forward”, – stated in the message of the White house.
