The tests were successful
The United States conducted in October two tests managed modernized B61 nuclear bombs without warheads, according to the National office for nuclear security (NNSA).
As part of testing the ammunition modifications of the B61-7 and B61-11 was dropped from two stealth strategic bombers B-2 Spirit. Mounted on bombs telemetry equipment has shown that the tests were successful, said NNSA.
A new modification of the B61 nuclear bomb should start to come into service in the United States from 2020. Preparations for the production began in August of this year.
