The government submitted to the state Duma a draft law on the legal regulation of professional sport. This order is posted on the website of the Cabinet.
The document prepared by the Ministry of sports of the Russian Federation for legislative consolidation of the existing system of relations in professional sports.
The bill, in particular, establishes the obligation of the sports federations and leagues to prescribe in the ordinances the conditions and the order of the transition of athletes to other clubs, as well as the size of payments on transfers. Introduced the concept of “sports agent” and the norm of compulsory accreditation of athletes Federation or the League. In addition, the bill stipulates the bases of activities and the competence of the permanent arbitration body to deal with disputes in professional sports.
On 22 April, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council under RF President on development of physical culture and sport in Kazan said that the law on professional sports is taken prohibitively long and expressed hope that it will be adopted by the state Duma in spring session.
