In the center of Odessa collapsed monument House of the Russian technical society, known in town as “Masonic”.
In a press-service of head Department of Public service on emergency situations in the region, UNIAN reported that at 13:50 in the rescue service received a message about the collapse of the two-storey building. “At present, rescuers and representatives of other relevant services are in place”, — noted in press service.
It is not excluded that under the rubble are people.
The scene cordoned off, experts begin dismantling the dam. The emergency arrived cars “first aid”.
14 Aug 2014 the Odessa regional Council sold the “Masonic home” at auction for 1.61 million UAH. The construction of the NINETEENTH-century building, located in Odessa city centre (Princes street,1/a) went under the hammer at a starting price. The building is object of a cultural heritage monument of urban planning and architecture of local importance, with a total area of nearly 1.34 million square meters covers an area of about 800 square meters. Built in 1892-1894 Grabar. At the time of the auction object was in a state of neglect, major restoration needed, including all the utilities.
