Vitaly Milonov urges to re-organize an alternative Olympics.
To be held in Sochi, the goodwill Games and to repeat the precedent in 1986, when Moscow was held “alternative Olympic games”, said the Deputy of legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vitaly Milonov in his appeal sent to the Minister of sports Vitaly Mutko. This “Izvestia” said the Deputy.

It is obvious that international sport organizations, putting pressure on our team, are a tool in the hands of the Western powers with the ignoble intention of undermining the national spirit of the Russian Federation. Given the current political situation in the world of sport and the obvious persecution of our athletes from outside of Western countries, and possible appropriate action on our part would be a resuscitation of the idea of the goodwill Games, commented on their initiative of Vitaly Milonov.
Twice in history there was a situation when the national teams did not participate in the Olympic games. In July 1986, exactly 30 years ago, in Moscow was held the goodwill Games, which was the motto “From friendship in sport to peace on Earth!”. They were the result of the previous two Olympiads. In 1980, at the initiative of the United States had boycotted the Olympics in Moscow. In 1984, the Soviet delegation boycotted the Games in Los Angeles. The initiator of the goodwill Games were made by Ted Turner American businessman and founder of CNN, he was supported by sports organizations and the business community. The Games were attended by over 3 thousand athletes from 79 countries who played 182 gold medals in 18 sports, was broken six world records, some continental and national.
According to Vitaly Milonova, you must repeat the success and to divide sports and politics.
“In sport there is no place in the international political competition at any cost. Sport is the beauty of will, fortitude and above all a fair fight. What we see today is an attempt to determine the winner of the Olympic games long before its opening and to eliminate our country as a dangerous rival”, — the statement says Vitaly Milonov.
Court of arbitration for sport in Switzerland (CAS) has denied the athletics national team of Russia and development in the lawsuit against the International Association of athletics federations (IAAF), which suspended Russian athletes from international competitions. Thus, the Russian athletes will not take part in the Olympic games. Earlier, the international Olympic Committee promised to make a decision on the possible removal from the summer Olympics, the whole Russian team, waiting for the verdict of the CAS by athletes.
State Duma Deputy Vadim Denikin believes the initiative correct and timely. He believes that we will be able to collect on their Games in many countries, including Europe.

According to the former Vice-President of FIFA, 1979-2005 years led the Soviet and Russian football, the goodwill Games will not have the same relevance that the period of the boycotts of the Olympic games in 1980 and 1984.
