Ukrainian workers in Poland created their own Union to protect their rights.
The Association operates within the framework of the National agreement of trade unions (OPZZ), the Polish radio.
Piotr Ostrowski of the International division of the OPZZ said to the Polish press Agency (PAP) that the Union has launched a special portal for employees from Ukraine.
“There is basic information about what a Union, what is its role and who to contact in case of need. In the future we plan to place information, such as the State Department of labor to workers from Ukraine could find there and other necessary information,” – said Ostrovsky.
He stressed that the Union for Ukrainian workers is at the organizational stage. Still open a Bank account and the portal, soon in Poland will be an information campaign.
Ostrovsky noted that the main task of the Union is the protection of Ukrainian workers from abuse by Polish employers.
According to estimates OPZZ in Poland there are about 700 thousand Ukrainians
