The Polish Institute of national remembrance (IPN) calls on relatives of Communist terror DNA.
Polish radio said that the genetic material of relatives of victims is necessary for carrying out DNA tests to identify bodies.
“This week the third phase of the search and exhumation work at the Warsaw Powązki, where in 1940-50-ies of the last century, the Communists were secretly buried dead members of the Polish anti-Communist underground”, – stated in the message.
The Yoi believe that thanks to these tests this year will be able to publish new names of soldiers and activists of the anti-Communist underground.
The researchers hope to find at Powązki the remains of Brigadier General of the Polish army August Emil Fieldorf, captain Pilecki and the Colonel Lukas Conrad Calistoga.
