16 Jul 2016 will be held the Night race — the only start in the capital, which takes place after sunset. As part of the competition was 5000 people will run 10 kilometres with lanterns in the city centre.
The route of the Night race will be held on Frunzenskaya and Prechistenskaya embankments. These streets will be closed to traffic during the competition. Runners can enjoy a breathtaking view of the night Moscow. On the run they will be able to admire the monumental building of the Ministry of defense, artistically illuminated Pushkin and the Crimean bridges, and lights of Gorky Park and an arrow of Marsh island on the opposite side of the Moscow river. In addition, the course will have multiple entertainment zones of light. Turning next to the temple of Christ the Savior, runners will return to the Luzhniki, where this night will be very bright. The start and finish of the race will be accompanied by music and light effects, and the award ceremony will take place directly on glowing start finish arch.
The race is scheduled for 22:30. Collection of runners will start several hours before the shooting of the chief judge. Runners, their relatives and friends come early to participate in contests and socialize with each other.
The night run is not the last in this season of “theme” the start of a series of the Moscow Marathon. Following the competition of the Musical marathon will take place on 14 August. It has registered about 7000 people. This race promises to be the mass start at the 21.1 km, breaking the recent record set on the Moscow half marathon in may of this year.
