A group of nationalists were preparing a coup during the elections on 16 October in the house of representatives of the Montenegrin Parliament – the Assembly. On Sunday, 6 November, told reporters in Podgorica, the special public Prosecutor of the country on business organized crime Milivoje Catnic.
“Organized crime group – the Russian nationalists. Their goal was to prevent Montenegro on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and, in particular, its membership in NATO”, – quotes Katnica DW.
According to him, the group consisted of about 50 people. Their plans included the seizure of hostages or the murder of Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and opposition forces in the capture of the Parliament.
Thus, according to Katica, the investigation has no evidence that Moscow at the state level have supported this plan, and it intends to apply to Russian authorities for assistance in investigating this crime.
“We will continue to cooperate with Russia, as the organizers of this criminal group – citizens of the Russian Federation”, – said the us attorney.
