According to investigators, the fire was opened by the traffickers.
The war between criminal groups claimed on Saturday the life of just 14 people in the Mexican city of Ciudad Victoria in Tamaulipas state, according to local authorities.
According to the Secretary-General of the state government Herminio Garza Palacios, early in the morning, armed men broke into two private houses, shooting at everyone who was inside.
Of all those killed the majority were women, including five underage girls. Another four people were injured. Meanwhile, 11 people were killed in the same house and were members of the same family. Among them, only two were men.
Immediately after the killings of local security forces have launched an operation to search for suspects, but so far the result is not brought. Palacios believes that mass killings are associated with clashes between criminal groups.
The border with the US state of Tamaulipas is the scene of confrontation between two powerful Mexican cartel “Los Zetas” and “Bay” in the control over the supply of drugs to the United States of America.
