In Kiev are testing a new mode of operation of traffic lights.
On Saturday, July 2, in the center of Kiev on the section of the Boulevard Shevchenko – Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard – the street started testing a new mode of operation of traffic lights.
As told in the press service of Kyiv city state administration, the pilot project Green wave is the work of a traffic light, during which the green light is lit on the entire street, allowing the transport to quickly pass the cut, and not to go from the intersection to the intersection, waiting their turn at the traffic lights.
According to the Director of Department of transport infrastructure Sergei Mazel, upon successful testing, the system will work and on other roads in the capital.
It is also noted that mode, the Green wave will allow tens of thousands of Kyiv residents to spend less time around the city.
