The fact of the theft, which occurred on may 15, was known only by the report prepared by the organization that establishes and supports the ATMs. According to the police, to pull off such a large-scale operation, the scammers have obtained access to the databases of one of South African banks.

The guards hope to establish the identity of criminals by photographs taken by the ATM, as well as with the assistance of Interpol and South African authorities to find out how they got access to confidential banking information in order to prevent this in the future.
