The confrontation between the Egyptian military and militants in the Sinai Peninsula has become more intense in the last two years.
As a result, 12 Egyptian soldiers were killed and another 6 injured. In the ensuing battle and killed 15 terrorists.
Responsibility for the attack on the checkpoint took the “Islamic state” (ISIS).
The incident occurred in the bir al-Abd areas located in the Western part of El-Arish.
