In Belarus on 1 July was the denomination of the national currency, which will be the largest in the history of the Republic, reports the BelaPAN news Agency. The exchange ratio is 1 to 10 000.
To go into circulation seven denominations of banknotes: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 rubles, and also eight coin denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, 1 and 2 of the ruble. The whole set of new banknotes is 888 rubles and 88 kopecks, reports “Nasha Niva”.
Each of the new banknotes is devoted to one area of the country (Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev and Minsk. The design of the bills was used images of monuments of architecture and urban planning. On the obverse of the coin depicts the official emblem of the country, on the reverse the digital designation of coin.
By the end of this year in circulation will be Belarusian rubles of 2000 and the new banknotes, developed in 2009. At the same commemorative and bullion (investment) coins issued into circulation by the National Bank of the Republic, be subject to acceptance at nominal cost in all kinds of payments without restrictions.
June 28, enterprises and financial institutions of Belarus in connection with the denomination warned citizens about the need to have a reserve of cash. The national Bank explained that the software settings of cashless payments will take about six hours. In addition, Belarusian Railways announced that from 22:30 20 June to 08:00 of July 1, will not work system of selling tickets via the Internet.
On 17 June President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko promised to “tear off the head” to those who raise prices during denomination.
A decree on the denomination of the Belarusian ruble, the head of state signed on 4 November 2015.
The current exchange was the third in the history of the country. 20 Aug 1994 in Belarus with the banknotes were removed one toe, and from January 1, 2000 — three zeros.
