IMF chief Lagarde will appear before court

The Supreme court of France took the decision to launch court proceedings against the head of the International monetary Fund Christine Lagarde.

Lagarde is accused of being in 2008, when she served as French Minister of Finance, she admitted that the arbitration court took the decision on payment to businessman Bernard Tapie compensation in the amount of 385 million euros from the state budget.

In 1993, Tapie sold the share belonging to him in Adidas AG via public Bank Credit Lyonnais, against whom he then brought charges of fraud during the transaction and demanded compensation.

Christine Lagarde has repeatedly denied the charges against her. According to her lawyers, the head of the IMF intends to appeal the decision, according to which she must stand trial.
