“Alice’s adventures in Wonderland — tale written by English mathematician Lewis Carroll in the nineteenth century, which to this day remains a living symbol of creativity and imagination.
It is therefore not surprising that many artists have included the images of Carroll in her works. However, you might be surprised to learn that one of these artists was a surrealist Salvador Dali.
In 1969 one of the editors of the publisher Random House had hired was Given to the one illustrated limited edition of “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland” in a series “Book of the month”. The result is a 12 heliogravure in which the well-known tale has gained new features.
For a long time this book was kept only a few collectors, but in honor of the 150th anniversary of tales publisher Princeton University Press has reissued this work with the illustrations Given, and with a Foreword by Mark Bernstein, head of the North American society of lovers of Lewis Carroll.
