Hyundai has published a teaser of its first harbinger of “charged” hatchback.
Along with the serial hatchback of the third generation i30, Hyundai will show in Paris the prototype of its sport modification, prepared by the newly established Department of “N”. The machine, which is conventionally called RN30, in the future will become a rival to the VW Golf GTI. The production model most likely will be named Hyundai i30N. The company said that the first car of the new line will be released next year.
RN30 try aggressive exterior body kit with wide wheel arches and front splitter from carbon fiber. In addition, a prototype equipped with a rear spoiler, pseudopodoces lid fuel fillers and low profile wheels.
About the technical features of the model very little is known. According to various sources, fast i30 will complement the 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine capacity from 250 to 300 HP, which will be paired with six-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission will appear later, probably in 2018. All-wheel drive transmission is open to question, but an electronic imitation of a limited slip differential of the novelty to be sure. According to the head of the Department of development to Hyundai Alberta Birman, the car is capable of accelerating to 250 km/h and will remain available in the category.
In early September, Hyundai has unveiled the hatchback i30 of the third generation, and the public debut of the car will take place at the motor show in Paris. On sale in Europe the novelty will arrive in early 2017.
The car is built on the same platform, and was noticeably larger than its predecessor. Due to this, the engineers managed to increase boot capacity and allocate more space for rear passengers feet. The range of engines i30 100-horsepower 1.4-liter MPI petrol engine, 1.0-liter gasoline turbo with 120 HP and 1.4-liter T-GDI turbocharged (140 horsepower). The diesel lineup includes a 1.6-liter unit in three power options: 95, 110 and 136 horsepower. The engines can work together with a six-speed manual transmission or with semidiapazonnym “robot” with two clutches.
