History repeats itself 36 years ago. Alas!

Today, thanks to the news, people absolutely far from sports know what a WADA. There is the World anti-doping Agency, which called to disqualify Russian athletes from participation in all international competitions, including the 2016 Olympic games. The issue of sanctions in relation to athletes from Russia will be decided on Tuesday by the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

It is sad all this is. It turns out, as once in school. Someone played a prank on the sly, the teacher (the head teacher or Director) punished the whole class. And then, when it became clear exactly who screwed up, punish the particular guilty. But the sediment remained.

Here something similar. Someone caught doping. In the end, affects all athletes. Athletes who were preparing for the main start of four years. And even if Tuesday the IOC will decide that Russia can easily play in Rio de Janeiro, not the fact that our athletes will be able to speak with dignity. Because all this negative background, the psychological pressure will influence the results. But as you know, the chances that the international Olympic Committee will decide the question in favor of Russia, is practically zero. Why? Because this is a great policy. And right today, Vladimir Putin drew an analogy with the early 80-ies of the last century, remembering the Olympics in Moscow and the Olympic games in Los Angeles. It seems that history repeats itself. The errors, alas, someone does not want to learn.

Which is a pity. After all, it makes sense to remember the ancient Greek custom, when every four years in the midst of internecine wars all put the weapon aside and went to Olympia to admire the harmoniously developed athletes and praise the gods.

And again. According to the Olympic Charter games “…unite Amateur athletes of all countries in fair and equal competitions. In relation to countries and individuals, no discrimination on racial, religious or political motives…”.
