The new version of Renault Clio RS will debut at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Renault has prepared a hardcore version of its smallest hot hatch — the Clio RS. Pictures of the new version of “charged” model published a Greek edition Motori.gr.
The emergence of a new modification of hot hatch confirmed and factory tuning-Atelier Renault — RenaultSport. On his page on the social network Twitter, the company released a teaser model and reported that the hot hatch will debut in the Grand Prix of Monaco Formula 1. This phase will take place from 26 to 29 may.
Judging by the published images, the standard version of the Clio RS novelty is another aerodynamic body kit, extended wheel arches and large rear spoiler. Inside will be a new steering wheel with integrated rim tachometer.
Hardcore modification of the Clio RS, called KZ 01, may obtain the power unit from the Megane RS, including mechanical gearbox (the Clio is now only available with the “robot”). According to some, the hot hatch can be equipped with 271-horsepower version of the two-liter turbo engine.
According to another report, a new version of the Clio RS will retain the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, but its capacity will increase to 250 horsepower. In the basic version of the hot hatch this unit produces 200 forces, and on version Trophy — 220.
It is assumed that the machine, which will be shown on the Monaco Grand Prix, will be a pre-production prototype. It is possible that Renault will make a limited batch of hardcore Clio RS modifications, the circulation of which will not exceed 500 copies.
