Despite its huge size, this is one of the most lifeless places on the planet, whose nature is still not fully understood.
Greenland – the largest on the Earth island, the territory of which is located the eponymous country with the lowest population density and one of the smallest capitals in the world.
The center of Greenland is the Greenland ice sheet, and its heart – welcoming, friendly people. Combined with the mountain scenery, interspersed by picturesque valleys, it makes the country an attractive tourist destination.
The huge icebergs break away from the world’s largest glacier Jakobshavn near the town of Ilulissat on the West coast. But the attention of scientists attract other events — the annual melting of glaciers on Greenland, where ice volume equivalent to 7-meter rise of the ocean.
The position of the Intergovernmental panel on climate change the UN is that the average temperature on Earth has risen by 0.7 °C since the industrial revolution (second half of XVIII century), and that “a large proportion of the warming observed in the last 50 years is attributable to human activities”, primarily the emission of gases that cause the greenhouse effect: carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4).
But there is another version. The famous American physicist Freeman Dyson argues that the measures proposed to combat global warming, no longer belong to the sphere of science, and are politicking and speculative business
The founder of the weather channel the Weather Channel, journalist John Coleman believes “the so-called global warming the greatest Scam in history.” According to him, “some dastardly and cowardly scientists for the protection of the environment and different policy objectives brazenly manipulated long-term weather observations to give people the illusion of global warming.”
The main idea of the second version — no rapid climate change and no impact of humanity on the Earth’s climate is negligible, no need to flatter myself. Just warming and cooling on our planet — it’s the usual batch processes. Our planet is not in danger. After one or two decades, the theory of global warming, it may be obvious to all. Like the famous theory about the “ozone hole”.
