Press Secretary of the Basmanny court of Moscow Juno Tsarev confirmed the information on arrest of property of the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory of Gregory Rodchenkov. About it on Thursday, August 25, TASS reported.
“The arrest was effected at the request of the investigator on the land,” she said, adding that this was done August 12.
That in respect of the property Rodchenkova applied such a measure, earlier Thursday, said an informed source. He noted that in August, the police conducted a number of seizures and searches on the case of former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.
On 18 June the Investigative Committee of Russia brought an action against Rodchenkova case on the results of the preliminary investigation of his interview in which he stated numerous anti-doping rule violations in Russia, including with his participation. He is charged with part 1 of article 201 of the criminal code (“Abuse of authority”).
In may Rodchenkov in an interview with The New York Times accused a number of Russian Champions of the Olympic games in Sochi in the use of illegal drugs, and in June became one of the heroes of the film broadcaster ARD on doping in Russia. In his confessions is also based investigation of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA). As a result, dozens of local athletes were suspended from the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
